It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Gordon Walter Field on October 15th, 2025. Gord’s departure leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him, and his loss is deeply felt by family and friends alike.
Gordon is survived by his loving sons, Tyler (Kasey) and Nicholas; cherished granddaughters, Sofia and Evelyn; his ex-wife, Ljiljana; and his siblings, Mike (Wendy), Kerry (Rosemary), Scott (Nina), and Laureen (Dave). He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, along with a wide circle of family and good friends he accumulated over the decades. He made it his mission to show all who knew him that they were each individually unique and supported their growth. Gord loved deeply for those he cared about and was a father figure for many.
A passionate and outspoken individual, Gord spoke his mind and embraced life fully. He dedicated his life to the pursuit of knowledge. Particularly through his deep love for the arts, from music to sculpture, and was a talented poet, writer, songwriter, musician, and photographer. His adventurous spirit took him around the world, with recent travels to Africa enriching his life and inspiring his creative pursuits.
Gordon’s presence will be greatly missed, and his legacy of passion, creativity, and authenticity will remain with all who knew him. His memory will be cherished for years to come.
