It is with great sadness that the family of Gerald Jean Gervais announce the sudden and unexpected passing on July 8, 2026, in Revelstoke, British Columbia, at the age of 58. Survived by his wife Rachel and son Connor, Jean as he was more affectionately known, leaves behind countless friends, extended family and close work colleagues.
Jean spent the majority of his working career involved in the rail industry, initially with Canadian Pacific, then from the early 90’s up until his passing with BC Rail / Canadian National. In addition to this, Jean was a strong Union leader where he served as the Chairman to the TCRC Provincial Legislative Board since 2014. Jean remained passionate to educating his coworkers of their rights, protecting people in need, and always caring for improving the rights for all no matter what the circumstances.
Jean was also affectionately known for several unique talents, that if you were fortunate enough to have known Jean well, then you would already have got to know this. He will always be missed as a mentor, colleague and a friend first and foremost.
There will be a small memorial service in Revelstoke for friends and family on September 12th, 2026.
