It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Weippert of Salmon Arm, BC, who passed away at his home on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at the age of 76.
Gary was born and raised in Montreal, where he spent his early years before relocating to British Columbia in the early 1970s. He worked diligently in the mining industry for many years until his retirement to Salmon Arm in 2016. In retirement, Gary embraced his love of music as a proud member of the Shuswap Barbershop Project Men's A Cappella Chorus, where he made many close friends. He also dedicated his time to serving others, volunteering with the Salvation Army Lighthouse, where his compassion and kindness touched many lives.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Darlene; his sisters, Dawna and Cheryl; and his brother, Bruce. He will also be deeply missed by his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends and community members.
A man of integrity, humor, and generosity, Gary's presence will be missed by all who knew him. His legacy of service, music, and love for his family will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Salvation Army or Shuswap Paws Rescue Society.
