My condolences to the family. Evelyn aka “Birdie” was my Grade 4 teacher at Armstrong Elementary School in 1956. I remember her as a sweet person who was so kind to me when I got my first pair of glasses and was teased by my classmates! We met again years later here in Salmon Arm and her nickname of Birdie was explained to me. My husband’s cousin sang in a choir with her when she was younger and she earned this handle because she sang like a ‘bird’!! So fitting. May she R.I.P.

I was very saddened to learn of Evelyn's passing and send my condolences to the family. I was her Travel agent for many years and she just loved planning her next trip, she travelled many times with Wells Gray Tours over the years. My fondest memory was when she and Haddon got married and were planning their honeymoon to Hawaii, it was like they were teenagers, so in love. Evelyn will be missed by many.

Evelyn and I met through participating at our Diabetes Support  Group , which started in the early 2000's ; we held regular meetings and a yearly  "start of the summer break" with a " bring your favourite meal " , which was held in our yard . Eventually the Support group folded . Rest In Peace   Evelyn .

I am sorry to hear of Mrs Seppala's passing.  I have great memories of hanging out with Cindy in our teens, praying together, sharing dreams, being invited for soup n sandwiches at Seppala's many times on my work lunch breaks.  I remember Watkins products to try, lots of conversation, watching Mr Seppala practice throwing those horseshoes... my condolences to you Cindy and family. May God comfort you.   Love and prayers!
