It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eric and Darlene Smith, longtime residents of Silver Creek, passed away on Saturday January 25.
They shared nearly 60 years of marriage and built a life centered on family, faith, hard work, and love. Together, they created a home that was known for its love, kindness and open door, and they were inseparable partners in every sense of the word.
Eric was known for his market garden, greenhouses, and woodworking. And was always willing to help someone in need, while Darlene was remembered for her volunteering in the community, her pear pies and her skills with a sewing machine. Though different in personality, they complemented one another perfectly and faced life’s joys and challenges side by side.
They were deeply devoted parents and took immense pride in their family. They are survived by their children: Jackie (Dave) Tanya (Kerry) and Randy (Tina), grandchildren: Travis, Danielle, Shaun, Aedyn, Xandrea (Harley), Kalina (Andrew), Phillip as well as siblings Heather, Frank (Eric) Richard, Donna, Judy (Darlene). There loss will be felt immensely by each and every family member.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday February 16 at 11am at Bowers Funeral Home.
With a luncheon to follow at the Silver Creek Seniors Center at 1pm.
