Elsie Michie Fuoco (Williamson) peacefully passed away on May 10, 2024, at the Royal Inland Hospital at the age of 96. She was born in Dodsland, Saskatchewan, and was predeceased by her loving husband John (Johnny) Fuoco, her daughter Marie (DoDo) Schaff, son in law Lorne Taylor and granddaughter Heather Spencer.
Elsie was a vibrant member of the community, known for her love of cooking and her active lifestyle. Often seen walking to town or enjoying an outing on the bus, Elsie brought joy to her neighbors with her amazing muffins and cakes, delighting in the pleasure others found in her baking.
Never one to shy away from adventure, Elsie lived life to the fullest. Despite facing challenges, she embraced each day with enthusiasm. Following cancer surgery, Elsie embarked on a memorable dog sledding excursion, revelling in the exhilaration of the experience and the beauty of the outdoors.
Elsie was blessed with a large and loving family, including five children, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She cherished her family dearly and leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Though Elsie will be deeply missed, she would want us all to live our lives to the fullest, embracing each moment with joy and making memories that will last a lifetime.
A funeral service will be held on June 24, 2024, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Revelstoke at 10:30 am, followed by interment at Revelstoke Cemetery.
