Elleanor was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Abe, parents Norman and Nellie Klapstein, son Gordon, great granddaughter Dannicka Lynn, brothers Ivan, Ronnie and Glenn.

Elleanor leaves behind her loving family, children Elleanor (Izaac), Dwayne(Melissa), Sharon(Carey), Patricia(Marshall) and daughter in law Vicky; 13 Grandchildren, Blake, Jason, Curtis(Brianna), Jesse(Kristi), Natasha(Rick), Shawn, Richard, Jeff, Melissa(Rodrigo), Kelsey(Dave), Mark(Brianna), Mackenzie and Kabe; numerous great grandchildren; siblings Norma(Walter), Ken(Margaret), Dennis, Robert(Peggy), June, Eugene(Melinda), Shirley and David; Sister in laws Linda and Margaret; numerous nieces and nephews

Elleanor was born in Edmonton Alberta on September 25, 1942. She was the oldest of twelve children and spent her childhood years moving between Alberta and BC. Elleanor loved playing softball as a child and was great at second base.

Elleanor married Abe Klassen on July 4, 1959. Dad's job took them to different communities before they settled in Sicamous in 1975. From the time she moved to Sicamous, Elleanor was an active member of the community. She was a stay at home Mom for many years where she was active in her childrens lives and activities. She coached softball, made costumes for the figure skating club and was always willing to help where she was needed.

Mom was an avid curler. Many days and nights were spent at the rink. We all have fond memories of being on the ice with Mom and Dad, where we all learned the joy of bonspieling.

Once the children left home she enjoyed being an active member at the Seniors Centre, the Crown Jewels (formerly the Red Hat Society) and the Royal Canadian Legion. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s activities and would travel between BC and Alberta many times a year just to watch her grandkids. Mom always looked forward to planning and organizing the Klapstein family reunions.

She loved to travel. Cruising to Alaska, trips to Hawaii and her cross Canada trip with Dad were her most memorable. One of her many enjoyments of life was visiting casinos near and far with her family and friends and she was looking forward to going to Vegas with her youngest granddaughter when she turned 21 next year.

Elleanor will be sadly missed by her family, friends and the entire community of Sicamous.
