Edward Bruce Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Edward George Bruce, announces his passing on April 27, 2022 in Salmon Arm, BC.  His wish was to stay at home to the end and he managed to accomplish that until his last day.

Ed was born March 27, 1937 in Duck Lake, Saskatchewan, and as a youngster, his family moved to Prince Albert, SK where he eventually met and married the love of his life, Lily May Procter.

Ed and May moved many times at the start of their lives together, eventually settling in Valemount, BC in 1971 where they bought their first business, Super A Foods.  He was a businessperson and developer and was successful in all that he took on.  Upon retirement, Mom and Dad moved to the Shuswap Lake Estates at

Blind Bay, BC where golfing was at their doorstep, and ultimately, spent his final years in Salmon Arm.

Ed will be remembered as a dedicated husband and a father to look up to.  His family was of utmost importance to him; he was always there to listen and provide advice and guidance if you asked.   He built a big house so his family and friends could all come to him…relax on the deck, enjoy barbeques and celebrate any day or occasion.  Community was held deep in his heart and he cared very much for all those around him.

His spirit is carried on by his wife of 65 years, Lily May Bruce, his four children: Wayne (Diana) Bruce, Debbie (Mike) Bolduc, Brenda (David) Antoniuk and Greg (Janice) Bruce; 9 grandchildren: Tyler and Wendy; Danielle and Jordanne; Megan and Britney; Emily, Amber and Olivia; 13 great-grandchildren: Molly, Landon, Cody, Oliver, Arrabella, Emilie and William; Braiden; Amelia, Sophie, Jace and Nova; and Anika; three surviving siblings, as well as an extended family of relations and friends from every walk of life. We were blessed to have lived and laughed with Dad and to have been taught many valuable lessons throughout his 85 years.

Edward is predeceased by three siblings, Don, Violet and Gladys and his parents, George Wellington Bruce and Bernadette Marie Laviolette.

Broken Chain

We little knew that morning that God was going to call you name.  In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.

It broke out hearts to lose you, you did not go alone; for part of us went with you the day God called you Home.

You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide; and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
