It is with great sadness that the family of Edith ‘Fay’ Balt announces her peaceful passing on August 21, 2025 at the age of 90 years. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She leaves behind her five children, Ryan Balt (Joanne), Eric Balt (Lisa), Dwight Balt (Dana), Mike Balt (Linda), Annette Thorhaug (Todd); as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Fay was one of 11 children born to Cyril and Esther Swallow, a farming family in Windthorst Saskatchewan. She married John Balt, settling on a farm outside of Corning Saskatchewan and raising their 5 children. After several years, Fay and John moved their family to Kipling Saskatchewan, where they opened a car wash and laundromat. The family then moved to Salmon Arm in 1970, opening the Evergreen Mobile Home park and the B-Line Laundromat and Dry Cleaning.
Fay is predeceased by all of her brothers and sisters; her beloved husband John Balt, and second husband Arthur Wiebe.
