Dorothy Marvin (nee Simpson)

The surviving siblings of Dorothy Margaret Lorraine Marvin (nee Simpson) are saddened to announce her passing at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops on January 14, 2022. She was born and spent her early years in Vancouver prior to moving to Armstrong BC with her family in 1958. She finished her schooling there prior to moving back to Vancouver where she spent many years working as a technician at Vancouver General Hospital before retiring to Chase in 1989.

She met and married Dan Marvin in Chase in 1993 and they continued to reside there until his death in December 2001. Dorothy continued to live and be involved in the community of Chase up until her recent passing.

“Dodie” captured the heart of many who knew her and extended her family circle with her sisterly nature. She had a lovable, compassionate, beautiful soul and was the center of our family world. She also loved the many animals she had as pets over the years.

From a large family, Dorothy leaves two sisters, Debbie Simpson, Lori Simpson (Nancy) and three brothers; Terry Simpson, Gary Simpson (Berniece) and David Simpson (Grace). She is predeceased by her parents Robert and Rebecca of Chase, her spouse Danny and brothers, Richard “Rick” and Robert “Rob”. She also leaves many nieces and nephews throughout BC and her favorite cat “Sammy.”

A family graveside private ceremony will be planned later in the Spring in Chase.
