Don Kerr was born August 9, 1948 in Brooks, Alberta. He is predeceased by parents Ford and Margaret Kerr. Don passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025 in his home. He will be remembered and sadly missed by family and friends.
Don worked for nearly two decades for the District of Sicamous as an equipment and snowplow operator, as well as a utility maintenance worker. Prior to his employment with the District, Don worked for Hoban Construction, building and maintaining roads, continuing his previous work for BC Highways. During his retirement years, Don could be found tinkering on and delivering equipment for Action Rentals and Napa.
Don was an invaluable volunteer for various organizations in the community of Sicamous, including the Eagle Valley Resource Center, Moose Mouse Days, local car shows, beer gardens, pancake breakfasts, 50/50 draws, and most notably as the volunteer bus driver for the Sicamous Eagles Hockey team. Affectionately known as “Bussy”, Don was recently honored for 23 years of dedicated volunteer service for the safe bus travel of many hockey players and coaches to their innumerable out-of-town games. Winter travel… have no fear “Bussy” is here!
Don’s helpful nature, willingness to always lend a hand, and never-ending ability to fix things created lasting friendships and garnered appreciation from many members of his family and community.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held on May 17th, 2026, from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Silver Sands RV Resort Clubhouse: 1383 Silver Sands Rd. in Sicamous, BC.
