Diane Perozak Obituary

Diane Perozak, a cherished friend, colleague, and adventurer, passed away on November 13, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on June 27, 1950 and raised in Revelstoke, BC, Diane lived a life full of purpose, warmth, and vibrant energy. Diane is predeceased by her mother and father Cecile and George Toma and leaves behind to mourn, her brothers Ted and Mike Toma.

Diane began her career with Western Union Insurance in Calgary in 1989 as a property adjuster. Whether she was in her office meticulously adjusting claim files or climbing onto roofs to assess hail damage with her colleagues, Diane brought enthusiasm and dedication to her work. Her teammates loved her sense of humor, often pulling pranks that she took in stride with her signature good-natured spirit. Her time at Western Union was marked by the lifelong friendships she built with Shonda, Marcia, and Debbie. This close-knit group remained steadfast companions throughout her life.

Outside of work, Diane embraced a wide range of hobbies. She was an avid curler, golfer, and downhill skier, often participating in adjusters’ tournaments and making memories on the slopes. She also dabbled in line dancing.

In 1995, Diane was thrilled to welcome Cassidy, Shonda’s daughter, into her life. As “Auntie Diane,” she treasured their outings and moments together, creating a bond that was as strong as family.

In 1998, Diane embarked on a new chapter, moving to Vernon, BC, where she purchased a soup and sandwich deli. Though she eventually transitioned back into insurance, working at Canadian Direct Insurance and later Intact Insurance. She eventually settled in Sicamous, BC.

Diane’s life was a testament to resilience, kindness, and the joy of connection. She leaves behind countless friends, colleagues, and loved ones who will remember her sharp wit, adventurous spirit, and unwavering loyalty.

She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. A celebration of Diane’s life will be held at a later date.
