It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Deanna Jean Knowles (Kerby) of Golden, BC on October 27, 2024, at the age of 53. Deanna was born in Salmon Arm on September 15, 1971.
When she was young, her mother Gale moved to the Golden area. In Deanna's early teens, she lived in Donald. On the long school bus rides to and from Golden, she met and fell in love with Dave. It wasn't long before they were married and had three children: Jessica, Gage, and Jaime. Deanna and Dave were together for a total of 37 years and married for 30 years.
Most people know Deanna from Overwaitea where she spent 20 years building her career while brightening everyone's day with her enthusiasm and genuine smile.
Deanna's most notable hobby was traveling with Dave and their available family on numerous trips to Mexico, Cuba, Hawaii, Disneyland, Dominican, and most recently RV'ing in the Arizona area.
Deanna was many things to many people, including a loving wife and compassionate mother to her 3 children. She was blessed with 7 grandchildren, and she put incredible energy into spending as much time as she could with them. She cherished and loved her grandchildren, who cherished and loved her in return.
Deanna is survived by her husband Dave, daughters Jessica Knowles and Jaime Shanahan (Dustin); son Gage Knowles (Kelli Burley); grandchildren Cayden, Lincoln, Sophia, Olivia, Aria, Jordyn, and Zara; mother Gale Treit (Byron); stepfather Bill Prytula (Nora Kennett); and nephew Ethan. Deanna was predeceased by her brother Travis Kerby.
Before Deanna's cremation, there was a private viewing held for family and close friends on November 2, 2024.
Thank you for your kind thoughts and condolences for Deanna and her family. Deanna was loved, and she is dearly missed.
