We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Dean Jelmer Schonheiter on May 24, 2025 at the age of 72.
He is survived by Colleen, his wife of 45 years, and his sons Ryan of Whitecourt, AB, and Lincoln of Devon, AB. He will also be deeply missed by his grandchildren Reece, Chase, Harlow, Maddy and Nova.
Dean was born and raised in Lacombe, AB on June 3, 1952 and moved to BC in 1973 where he lived for the remainder of his life. His career spanned logging for over 30 years, window construction, log home building, metal fabrication, and motorcycle repair and restoration. When it came to homes, vehicles, or equipment, there was not much that he could not fix.
Throughout his life he enjoyed woodworking, playing baseball, restoring and riding motorcycles, sport shooting, exploring the local wilderness, and spending time with family and friends.
In lieu of flowers his family requests that donations be made to the Salmon Arm SPCA or a charity of your choice.
