David was raised in Carleton Place, Ontario until he was 17, at which time he joined the Navy. He was predeceased by his parents; Mary and Leonard (Fibber) McGee. He is survived by his wife; Linda, his children; Shelley (John) of Calgary, AB, Matthew of Revelstoke, BC, his grandchildren; Madison, Mary, Emma, Luke and Dawson as well as his sister; Janie and brothers; Bryan (Valerie), Mickey (Faye) and Scott (Karen).
He married his "Duck" Linda in 1970. They welcomed Shelley to the family in 1971. In 1973 the family moved from Ontario to Rogers Pass, then to Revelstoke in 1975. Also that year they became a family of 4 when Matthew arrived.
David worked for Parks Canada as a Maintenance Supervisor for 25 years. Then he did an array of smaller jobs, until he found his job at the Revelstoke Snowmobile Club. He worked there for 20 years, which he loved.
David attended and was a member of the Revelstoke Alliance Church for over 40 years. He made many wonderful friendships there.
Being a husband, father of two and a Poppa of 5 amazing grandchildren was his joy in life. He also enjoyed watching all kinds of sports, especially hockey (Canucks and the Grizzlies). He would often be up early and off to have coffee with the guys at the A & W. He enjoyed woodworking and driving around town checking things out.
David will be so very missed by his family and friends.
