Dale "Mickey" Rear

It is with great sadness that the family of Dale “Mickey” Rear, announces her passing at Mount Cartier Court on September 2, 2024 at the age of 66.  Her passing follows a lengthy courageous battle with a rare disease known as Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.  She suffered this illness with much grace and dignity and kept her sense of humor throughout. 

Her working career was spent at Queen Victoria Hospital where she excelled at her job and made many lasting friendships.  Her love of photography created many beautiful images from animals to weddings and anything in between. 

Mickey will always be remembered for her sense of humor, love of friends, family and animals, her giant snowman collection and her delicious homemade perogies. 

She is survived by her loving, loyal partner George Goodwin, her devoted daughters Erika Rear (Shane Cowie) Kelsey Duncan (Tim) and grandchildren Owen and Jolene.  Mickey will also be missed by her brother; Keith Stefanko (Barb), nieces; Nicole and Tara and nephew; Jason, as well as many other family and friends. 

The family wishes to extend a special Thank You to the staff at both Mount Cartier Court and Queen Victoria Hospital, including her care team, for all of their dedicated and loving care of Mickey.
