Bonnie Threlkeld Obituary

Bonnie grew up in Langley, BC, the middle child of three siblings. She attended school in Langley, graduating from Langley High School with top marks. It was during her high school years that she met her loving husband, Graham, whom she enjoyed 67 years of marriage, and had two sons together.

Bonnie attended school to become a C.G. Accountant, winning the gold medal for top marks in her class and going on to work for the District/City of Salmon Arm as their main accountant and treasurer for many years.

Bonnie was a kind and gentle person who always put others’ needs ahead of her own. She gave back to the community by volunteering at the Senior Resource Centre, Friends of the Library, and Second Harvest Food Bank. She also volunteered as the treasurer for the Rogers Arena during its construction.

Bonnie also had many hobbies including gardening, walking, reading, boating, RVing, travelling, painting, and enjoying time with her little dog, Pepper.

Bonnie passed away peacefully in Shuswap Hospital from the effects of Parkinson’s, which she had been struggling with for several years. Mourning her loss are her husband, Graham; son Craig; daughter-in-law Cherie; sister and brother-in-law, Sheila and Ken; grandson Conner; and granddaughter Clara. She was predeceased by her son Carey and her brother George.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Shuswap Hospital for the excellent care they gave Bonnie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shuswap Hospital Foundation. To honour Bonnie’s wishes there will be no service. A family gathering will take place at a later date to inter Bonnie’s ashes at the Shuswap Memorial Cemetery.
