Biv Jodouin Obituary

Biv Jodouin was born in Killum Alberta March 11, 1946, to Peggy and Buster Shane.  She moved with her family to Golden BC in 1957 where she finished her schooling. She met the love of her life at a young age and started a family with Bob. Together they raised two amazing children in Shane and Crystal. In raising their children Biv was involved in Shane’s snow machine racing and Crystals horse competitions. Biv was a working Mom, a meticulous homemaker, and very active in their community of friends met through racing and riding. Biv always extended her hospitality to friends that they had met along the way, there was always a place to stay and a good meal to go with the conversation over coffee or cocktails. Biv grew quite good at entertaining large groups for dinners on occasions like easter and Christmas. Biv’s favorite time of year was Christmas, and she would go to great lengths to decorate and bake goodies. One of her specialties was a recipe that she had received from her mom, Swedish flat bread, which was only made for the holiday season. This was a coveted treat for all lucky enough to get a taste. Biv amassed a collection of Santa’s that got to be on display for the Christmas season all around the most spectacular show piece that was her Christmas tree. Boxing day was always a fun time for family and friends. Biv made friends from all walks of life and of all ages and all were welcome to visit and her generosity and kindness was felt by many. Her home was often the place to just hang out and feel welcome and loved. Biv also shared a special bond with the ladies from Evergreen Insurance whom she worked with for many years. She was a caregiver to all who may have needed her. Biv was both fierce and kind, as the situation required. The phrase “I can’t” were never words that passed her lips. Strength and stubbornness forever coursed through her entire being. Biv also adored animals, and several dogs had their best life in her home. Wild critters often came to say hello as well. As a caregiver Biv devoted years looking after both her mother in Peggy’s declining years, and her husband Bob through his battle with diabetes.

Biv will be forever loved and missed by her son Shane (Bobbi), her daughter Crystal (Mark), grandchildren Kyle and Erin, and great grandchildren Baya, Jade, Nate, and Dax, and her new fluffy friend Missy.
