Obituary

In loving memory of Bertha Hare (nee Hafftor) It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of “Mom, Nana, Great Nana, Great Great Nana Hare” at Salmon Arm early morning of May 8, 2023 at the age of 92. She passed away peacefully with family by her side.

She is survived and will be dearly missed by her daughters Darla (Brian) Pitman, Joanne (Bill ) Laws; Grand-children: Carolynn, Brad, Tracy, Jody, Denae, Stacie, 10 great grand-children, 3 great-great grand-children, Sisters (Grace, Connie, Lois), Brothers (Barney, Hugh), nieces & nephews. Bertha is pre-deceased by her husband Herb (Feb. 7, 2014), of 73 years of marriage; son Greg (April 4, 1974), parents (Iona, Emil), sister (Ellen), brother (Victor).

She was born in Shell Lake Saskatchewan and lived most of her life throughout B.C. When the family moved back to Salmon Arm in 1961, she became a Telephone Operator until the office closed. She had a great sense of humour, loved to square dance, play cards, camp and tend to her beautiful flower gardens. She treasured her family, friends & long time neighbours.

A family gravesite service to be held at a later date followed by a Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers - donations to Alzheimer Society “Mom” we know that once again you & Greg will be lovingly listening to Dad’s creative stories
