Arlene Ann Ulland

It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She passed away Saturday, March 8, 2026, age 84.

She was born October 11, 1941, in New Westminster, B.C. to Arthur and Dorothy Matus. Arlene married Gary Ulland November 28, 1959, and began their 67-year life together.

In the early years of their life together, Arlene worked as a soldier’s wife, hairdresser, commercial fisherman, hotelier, construction site coffee and food truck operator, spending the last 36 years living near Mara Lake and in Sicamous.

Arlene was preceded in death by her son Gregory, her parents and a brother.

She is survived by her husband Gary, daughters Deanna Madge and Leah Ulland, three grandchildren, two great-grandsons, a brother and two sisters.

Her surviving family gathered in Sicamous on March 11 to celebrate her life and share their memories.
