It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, who left us peacefully on March 14, 2025, at Shuswap Lake Hospital with her four children by her side. We would like to thank the staff at SLH for the amazing care they provided in the final moments of her life.
Mom (Gramma, Mamma, Arnie, Dimples) touched the lives of so many with her warmth and compassion. She is survived by her four children: Debbie, John (Kary), Charlaine (Ehren) and Charlie (Talia); her siblings: Richard, Mauraine, Chuck (Darlene), Steven (Alex), John (Kristine), David (Jen), Ted (Karen), Eddie, Shawn (Cindy), Denise (Larry), D’Arcy (Frances), and Daniel; her ten grandchildren: Tricia (Dave), Travis, Jessica (Tommy), David (Tauhnis), Nichelle (Jonah), Braylon (Ebany), Shon, Cameron, Chazz, and Vitoria; her twelve great-grandchildren: Jayden, Korah, Mason, Kaleb, Logan, Liam, Vaughn, Amellia, Ethyn, Sophia, Yale, and Beau; and also many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
She enjoyed so much in life, including painting, golf, cards, crib, curling, and knitting, just to name a few. She was always so sociable and outgoing and kept such a positive outlook on life. Her strength and independence reminds us all to push ourselves to achieve our goals in life. She taught us so many things, from raising rabbits to gardening, flowers, and cooking those meals (without a recipe) that warmed our hearts each and every time she made them for us; and who can forget those amazing soups and pies!! She leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will forever remain in our hearts.
Per her wishes, the family will hold a celebration of life that will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, we invite you to make a donation to any of the following: the Canadian Lung Association, the ALS Society or the SPCA. Your generosity will help continue the important work they do and honor Arlaine’s memory in a meaningful way.
