It is with sorrow that our family must announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Ardie Thomas.
Ardie was born in the spring of 1946 to Beth and Johnny Shannon in Fruitvale BC.
She was the oldest of the crew of five with two brothers and two sisters following her.
Ardie spent all her young years in Fruitvale surrounded by her large and busy extended family.
In 1964 she met the man of her dreams in William (Bill) Thomas. She was the most beautiful bride when they married in November of 64. From there they started their life together which encompassed many moves to many locations for Bill's profession. From Kimberley to Revelstoke to Kelowna to Sexsmith AB and Salmon Arm where they finally landed.
Along the way they added to their family with the birth of Heath 1966, Aaron 1968, Jarrod 1970 and were complete with the arrival of their only daughter Kirsty in 1976.
As the years past the family grew and grew to encompass not just their 4 children and their spouse's but, 15 grandchildren and their partners as well as 9 great grandchildren.
Ardie's heart and soul was her family. She was a wonderful cook, baker, seamstress and could knit and crochet with amazing skill. The most valued of all her talents, however, was her razor-sharp wit and sense of humor. She was never lacking for a comeback or cheeky comment. Her laughter and beautiful smile will be forever missed by us all.
Ardie is predeceased by her beloved Bill in 2016, Granddaughter Sonya 2020 and Grandson Justin in 2021.
She is survived by her brothers Howard and Wally, her sisters Deborah and Stacy, her children Heath, Aaron, Jarrod, Kirsty and all the rest of her wild and wonderful brood.
