It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father Alphonse Hanet.
He passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 23 2024 at the age of 88 years old.
Al is survived by his sister Benita Pincin (Peter), also survived by his 3 children Linda Cain (Gordon),
Debbie Cairney (Darryl), Brian Hanet (Sherri), 7 grandchildren, Nicola, Gina, Joshua, Tanis,
Shelby, Austin, and Aaron, also 2 great grandchildren, Stella, and Bria.
Al was born and raised in Kelowna and spent most of his life in the Okanagan valley.
He spent a large portion of his retirement participating in lawn bowling, representing
Canada at numerous Commonwealth games, and earned several gold medals.
Al knew how to light up a room just by walking in. He will be greatly missed by all the people’s
lives he touched.
By Al’s request there will not be a service. His family will honor his wishes by gathering to
celebrate and remember his legacy at a later date.
