Alice 'Anne' Joanne Magnusson

With sadness, the family of Alice Joanne ‘Anne’ Magnusson announces her passing on October 30, 2023 at the age of 77. Anne was born in Nelson, B.C in 1946 and moved to Golden after completing her nursing degree in Kamloops. She intended to stay in Golden for only six months; instead, she met and married Magnus ‘Mag’ Magnusson, worked as a nurse at the Golden & District Hospital over the course of 35 years, and made Golden her permanent home. Together Anne and Mag raised 3 children, loved travelling, were avid golfers, and were active in the local community. Anne will be dearly missed and remembered for her kindness, and her talents with needlepoint, knitting, crocheting, sewing, baking, and playing a mean game of Scrabble.

Anne is predeceased by her husband Magnus Magnusson and her parents Bob and Irene Dickson. She is survived by her sons, Rob Magnusson and Chris Magnusson of Golden, her daughter Margret Magnusson (Lorne Mackie) of Calgary, and her brother Tom Dickson of Revelstoke.

To honor Anne’s wishes, no funeral will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anne’s name to the Friends of Golden & District Hospital or the Golden and Region Senior’s Society.

Anne’s family would like to thank Dr. Chiles and the amazing team of nurses and staff at the Golden & District Hospital for the exceptional care they provided to Anne in her final days.
