This humble, sweet and faithful man was graciously met by all those who are waiting for him in heaven and is now in the presence of our Lord.
Our Joe's journey on this earth was one marked by kindness, compassion, and an unwavering faith in God. He enjoyed nature and the outdoors, bird watching, hiking / rock climbing, fishing, cross country skiing. He was a scholar, earning several degrees, thus, enjoyed a vigorous conversation over sweets and a coffee with so many of his community.
He is survived by his beloved sister Gladys, his brother Vic and many nieces. He leaves behind his companion of 45 years, Takeko Chris Hosokawa, his stepdaughters Kemi (Matthew) Fowler, Carrie Ann "Karlie" Pidgeon and countless friends within his community and abroad.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to the Canadian Carmelite Charitable Society, BC SPCA, or charity of your choosing.
May the memories we hold dear sustain us in the days ahead and lead us to a place of healing and peace.
