It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alan DC Hyde on January 17, 2026.
Alan was born on August 5, 1958, in Salmon Arm, BC, and was the beloved son of the late Norris (“Scottie”) and Harriett Hyde of Sicamous, BC.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted wife and life partner of 43½ years, Kim, and their children, Serica (Ryan) and Tyler (Krista), along with nine grandchildren who were his world.
Alan is also lovingly remembered by his siblings: Earl (Lorna), Lynne (Roger), Dawn (Gordie), Norrie (Sandi), and Steve; his sisters-in-law Linda, Stacey (Doug), and Sandra; his brothers-in-law Howard and Mark; and his parents-in-law, Merv and Ann. He will be dearly missed by his many nieces, nephews, friends, and colleagues.
He was predeceased by his brother Neil, and his sisters-in-law Donna, Imelda, and Terri.
Special thanks to Dr. Willms, Dr. Rose, and the staff at Shuswap Lake General Hospital for their care and compassion.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Eagle River Secondary School in Sicamous on May 2, 2026. Doors will open at 3:00 p.m.
