Hindman Bowers Funeral Home

Robert Hindman, a licensed funeral director from Oregon started Hindman’s Funeral Home in Golden in 1964. The facility was located where the present day Overwaitea Grocery Store is located.

During the late 1960’s Mr. Hindman had the building moved to its present site. Upon Mr. Hindman’s retirement in 1990, Jack Bowers, Kevin Bolen and Gary Sulz took over the business and continue to operate it under the Hindman Bowers name.

Robert Hindman moved to Creston area when he retired and passed away in 1993. He was buried in the family plot at Baker, Oregon.

In 1990, partners Gary Sulz, Kevin Bolen and Jack Bowers bought the buildings and business, paying homage to the Hindman family and history by running the business as Hindman Bowers Funeral Home.
