Jack Bowers
Jack Bowers, born and raised in Salmon Arm, is the owner of Bowers Funeral Service. He purchased the Funeral Home from his father, Thomas Bowers, in 1972 and has been operating it ever since. Jack lives in Salmon Arm with his wife, Gayle, and two of his four children. Along with the Funeral Service, Jack has many other endeavors to keep himself busy. He has started a number of townhouse developments in the past years as well as the purchase and renovation of a local hotel. Business, however, is not Jack's sole pastime; He is a member of the board of Salmon Arm's Salmar Community Association and plays an active role in the community. Jack is also very physically active. In 1991 Jack completed his fourth consecutive Ironman in a time of 11 hours 29 minutes and 45 seconds. The Ironman, for those who don't know, is a triathlon consisting of a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike and a 26.2 mile run.

Kevin Bolen
Kevin Bolen, born and raised in Enderby, British Columbia, is assistant manager at Bowers Funeral Service. Kevin started working with Bowers Funeral Service part time in 1980 while still attending school. After graduating from A.L. Fortune High School in 1982, Kevin enrolled in the BC Funeral Service Apprenticeship Program, graduating in 1984. Currently, Kevin is serving as director on the board of the BC Family Funeral Association as well as an evaluator throughout the BC interior for the Funeral Service Association of BC's apprenticeship program. Kevin believes in the importance of attending educational seminars to keep up with the changes in the funeral profession. Striving to exceed the needs of families at the time of a death and making the funeral a healthy start in the grieving process is very important and he is pleased that this is the philosophy of Bowers Funeral Service. Aside from the funeral business, Kevin is an avid bowler and has completed the Vancouver Marathon three times. He has also completed the Salmon Arm Classic Triathlon four times. Kevin lives in Salmon Arm with his wife, Jacquie, and their two children.

Naomi Silver
Naomi Silver was born in Swansea, Wales. She was raised in Toronto, Ontario and moved to the interior of British Columbia in the early 1970's. In her previous job as Youth Coordinator for the Shuswap Hospice Society, Naomi gained 10 years of experience working with families, not only working in death and dying situations but also working with loss from other life changes such as serious illness and separation and divorce. Over the past 10 years Naomi has facilitated many workshops on a variety of topics relating to grief and loss. The Shuswap area has been Naomi's home since 1982. She lives with her husband, Keith, on their farm in White Lake. They have five grown children. Naomi's interests include crafts, gardening and enjoying the outdoors.


Shannon Dainard
Shannon Dainard was born in Langley, BC. She grew up on the Coast and in Williams Lake. In 1998, Shannon moved to Salmon Arm with her husband, Lonny, and started at Bowers in the spring of 2000. Shannon oversees the grounds at the funeral home, and sees to the cleanliness of the interior. She assists on funerals, coordinates funeral luncheons at the Mountainside Room, and steps in to help wherever needed. Shannon loves animals of all sizes, and her hobbies include fishing and gardening. In June 2005 , Shannon completed the Funeral Service Association apprenticeship program and recieved her licence as an embalmer and funeral director.
