It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary (Mollie) Slane Hawes (Flemming) at the age of 94 years on Sunday, July 4, 2010 at Shuswap Lake General Hospital, Salmon Arm, BC.
She was born in Vermilion, Alberta on February 18, 1916. Predeceased by her husband Ralph and sons Roger and Greg. She is survived by her daughter Susan Mary, son in law, Wayne, grandchildren, Gordon and Patricia. Of her many talents in life, the best were the love and generosity she showed to all she met. For the past few years she devoted most of her passion to knitting for the Salmon Arm Hospital Auxiliary, raising money to help heal her community. A special thanks goes out to the staff that watched over her diligently on her last days of life.
