Robert David (Bob) Nicholson passed away suddenly on route to hospital by ambulance on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the age of 70 years.
The family will hold an open house reception at the family residence in Sicamous on Saturday afternoon, May 15th, allowing the family and friends to share memories of Bob.
Born in Prince George, BC on February 23, 1940, he has been an active resident of the Malakwa, Sicamous area since 1954. Work took him away for a few years; he always enjoyed returning to the local area. His career involved driving big trucks until health forced him to retire in 1990. Bob had open heart surgery in January of this year, this was followed by two weeks of pleasure at the Olympics, including being part of his grandson, Shea Weber’s victory with the Canadian Gold Medal Hockey team. Bob got to wear the Gold Medal with honor.
Predeceased by his son, Robert David Nicholson III on August 29, 1981; his parents, Robert David and Helen Nicholson, two brothers, Corky and Andy.
Bob leaves his loving family, wife, Jane, having just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 16th; three daughters, Pam Trouton of Kelowna, Tammy (Adrien) Brule of Sicamous, Tracy (James) Weber of Sicamous, 9 grandchildren, Devin (Kim), Robbi (Lyle), Sam (Blake), Chad, Mallory (Ryan), Ronnie (Douglas), Tamara, Shea (Bailey), Brandon (Cathryn); 8 great grandchildren, Savanna, Sidney, Kade, Bailey, Emma, Daryan, Hayden, Brooklyn; and his sister, Susan (Richard) Koide of Kelowna
